marking runways

I have found that the easiest way to find your runways is to mark them with the usual yellow (or blue) pushpin, but in the properties section I choose the altitude as 100 metres, relative to the ground, and extended to ground.

This way, when you are flying in for a landing the yellow pin is up in the air on a yellow column, where you can see it as you line up for a landing.

  1. I,m also marking my runways with yellow pins but I'm always using 2 pins on the beginning and the end of runway with number of the runway in it and one of pins has added airport name and code. f.ex. 07 Sion (SIR) and 29. You can also turn on the airports layer in the Transportation bookmark.

  2. Thanks for note. I picked up the suggestion of using the yellow pin on a tall column from an earlier comment years ago when Flight Simulator first appeared. I have used pins at both ends of the runway, especially on strips where I land from both ends.

I like the idea of marking the pins with the airport name and runway number. I will also try the Transportation layer.

    Thanks . . . Alan

  3. Hi...I have made a code quite similar to yours but I can't figure out how to apply it to the simulator so it will change the controls.
    Thanks,
